Panaitan Island
Panaitan Island is an island located at the tip of the westernmost peninsula of Ujung Kulon National Park which is separated by a narrow strait. Panaitan Island is an island that is not less interesting with Peucang Island. The island with an area of ± 17 000 ha of this has a variety of potential natural attractions that are very interesting to visit.
Panaitan island formed by the hills of pristine forest vegetation with a combination of mangrove forest, beach forest and lowland rain forest. A state of pristine forest is inhabited by various species of wildlife such as deer, mouse deer, wild boar, long-tailed monkey, crocodile, lizard, python snakes, and various species of birds.
Panaitan Island Ganesha statue is also there along with objects other historical relics which have a very high historical value and is a relic of ancient Hindu, precisely at the peak of Mount Mercury. Regions rocky and sandy white beaches with beautiful coral reef in it is very good for maritime tourism activities bleak diving and snorkeling. Ripple waves on the sea is high enough so that suitable for surfing.
In some parts of the mainland area of the island is already available paths to accommodate the activities mentioned above, but has not been equipped with facilities / other tourist facilities particularly adequate accommodation services for tourists.
